Victory Through the Cross: Building from a Place of Resurrection Power

As Holy Week culminates in the celebration of the Resurrection, we are reminded of the greatest truth that empowers our walk, our work, and our witness: we don’t fight for victory—we build from it.
For faith-driven entrepreneurs, business owners, and Kingdom professionals, this isn't just a theological concept. It’s a blueprint. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only the foundation of our faith, it's the fuel for our calling.
Whether you’re building a business, leading a ministry, launching a vision, or navigating the valley between calling and clarity, you are doing so from a place of finished work, not frantic striving.
Let’s explore how the Resurrection shifts your mindset, aligns your mission, and equips you to lead, create, and persevere with divine boldness.
The Resurrection Changes Everything
1. It Confirms Your Identity: Because Jesus rose, you are no longer defined by your past, your mistakes, your limitations, or your fears. You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You don’t have to earn your worth in business. Your identity is sealed, so you can lead with security, not insecurity.
2. It Secures Your Authority: Ephesians 2:6 says we are "seated with Christ in heavenly places." That means you carry spiritual authority into every boardroom, Zoom call, investment decision, and creative strategy. You’re not just an entrepreneur—you’re an ambassador of Heaven.
3. It Redefines Success: Because Jesus conquered death, success is no longer just profit, scale, or accolades. Success is obedience. It’s faithfulness to the call, not comparison to the culture. You can focus on eternal impact rather than temporary applause.
The Cross Before the Crown: What It Means to Build from Victory
The Resurrection came after the Cross. Every builder, entrepreneur, and visionary will experience a crucifixion moment—a season where something must die to make room for new life.
Sometimes it’s pride.
Sometimes it’s the need to control.
Sometimes it’s old strategies or limited mindsets.
But when you yield to God’s process, the resurrection power of Christ breathes new life into the work of your hands. You build not from burnout, but from blessing. Not from pressure, but from presence. Not from scarcity, but from spiritual abundance.
Real-Life Application: From the Empty Tomb to Your Enterprise
1. You Walk Differently When You Know How the Story Ends Because of Resurrection Sunday, you already know the outcome: Jesus wins. That means setbacks can’t stop you, silence can’t define you, and slow seasons don’t disqualify you. You can endure hardship with hope.
2. You Lead with Eternal Perspective You’re not building for likes or legacy alone. You’re building for lives changed. The Resurrection shifts your focus from short-term gratification to long-term transformation.
3. You Plant Boldly, Even When You Can’t See the Fruit Just like Jesus went to the grave with a promise that resurrection would come, you can plant your ideas, resources, and time into your vision, trusting God for the increase. Your job is obedience. His job is outcome.
Real-Life Testimony: Victory in the Valley
Steven Pastrana, founder of The Kingdom Investor, recently shared a transparent post about going through his own "cross" season—a time of quiet, testing, and refinement. But in that hidden place, God birthed a new vision: one where business isn’t separate from ministry but becomes a vessel for it.
"I’m no longer in a rush to succeed," Steven says. "I’m here to obey God’s voice, walk at His pace, and build something that glorifies Him. The empty tomb changed everything. I no longer build in fear—I build in faith."
Just like Steven, many of us are being called to slow down, surrender control, and remember that God’s resurrection power can do more with your obedience than you can with your ambition.
Reflection Questions
Where in your business or life have you been operating from fear or scarcity instead of victory?
What area of your calling needs to be resurrected by God’s power?
Are you defining success by culture’s standards or Christ’s?
What would change if you built with eternity in mind?ships don’t always start with a business pitch. Sometimes, it begins with a conversation.
Kingdom Challenge: Build Boldly from Resurrection Power
This week, take 30 minutes to:
Reflect on what God is calling you to release (control, comparison, pride).
Write down the vision you feel God is breathing back to life.
Declare this over your business: "Because He lives, I can lead with boldness."
Let this Holy Week be more than a tradition. Let it be a turning point where you build from the power of an empty tomb.
Prayer: Boldness from the Empty Tomb
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the victory we have in Christ. Thank You that the Cross was not the end of the story. Remind me today that I am not building in my own strength, but from the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the grave. Help me to lay down every fear, every idol, and every burden that keeps me from walking in obedience. Let my business, my leadership, and my life be a reflection of Your glory. I declare that I build from a place of victory, not defeat. Use the work of my hands to bring others into Your Kingdom.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." — 1 Corinthians 15:57
