Leveraging Your Platform to Positively Impact Society with Kingdom Values.

In a world that constantly grapples with conflicting messages, where popular culture often conflicts with Kingdom principles, God has strategically positioned us as entrepreneurs, leaders, and professionals—not merely to succeed in business, but to steward our influence intentionally for a higher purpose. Our businesses, careers, and networks are more than just means of income; they're powerful platforms to shape culture, influence communities, and transform society through Christ-centered values.
Today, let's dive deep into the idea of stewarding our influence responsibly and powerfully, aligning our ambitions with God's mission to positively impact the world around us.
Understanding Your God-Given Influence
Influence as a Divine Assignment
Every person carries influence, no matter the scale of their reach. Whether you lead a global organization or impact your local community, your voice and actions carry weight. God places people strategically to effect positive change, advance His Kingdom, and reflect His glory.
“You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:13-14
As Kingdom entrepreneurs, we are called not only to acknowledge our influence but also to steward it intentionally. This involves understanding that influence isn't about popularity or power, but about responsibility and service.
Biblical Principles for Stewarding Influence
1. Humility and Servanthood: True Kingdom influence starts with humility. Jesus modeled the perfect blend of authority and humility when He washed the disciples' feet (John 13:1-17). He made clear that true leadership and influence come from serving others selflessly.
To effectively steward our influence, we must adopt a posture of humility, recognizing that our abilities and opportunities are gifts from God intended to serve others.
2. Integrity in Action: Influence grows strongest through integrity. Proverbs 11:3 emphasizes, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” Our actions, business decisions, and everyday interactions must consistently align with biblical principles. Integrity builds trust and opens hearts to the transformative power of God’s truth.
3. Wisdom and Discernment: God’s wisdom equips us to navigate complex challenges while remaining faithful to His calling. As Proverbs 4:7 instructs, “Wisdom is supreme—therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” Stewarding influence effectively requires discerning God’s voice amid competing narratives, guiding others toward Kingdom-minded solutions.
Practical Ways to Leverage Your Influence
1. Model Kingdom Values in Business: Your business is a stage from which you broadcast your values. Commit to excellence, generosity, transparency, and compassion. Let clients, employees, and partners witness a different kind of entrepreneurship—one rooted firmly in faith and expressed through authentic actions.
2. Create Platforms for Positive Conversations: Whether through social media, public speaking, or small group interactions, intentionally steer conversations toward purpose-driven, Kingdom-centered topics. Facilitate dialogues that encourage others to think deeply about their values, purpose, and community impact.
3. Advocate for Kingdom Principles in Society: Use your influence to advocate for truth, justice, generosity, integrity, and love—core Kingdom values—in your professional networks and communities. Support initiatives that align with these principles and lead by example.
A Real-Life Example: Influence in Action
Meet Jonathan, founder of a rapidly growing tech company. Jonathan struggled initially with aligning his Christian faith with the competitive, often cutthroat tech industry. However, he decided to approach his leadership intentionally, embedding Kingdom values throughout his company.
He adopted transparency in company finances, regularly investing in his employees’ personal and spiritual growth, and dedicating company resources toward community service. Over time, not only did his team thrive, but the broader industry began noticing something different. Leaders from other companies reached out, intrigued by his approach.
Jonathan shared, “I realized my business wasn’t just a business. It was a ministry—a way to visibly live out God’s Kingdom. Stewarding my influence has transformed lives, including my own.”
Reflection Questions
Pause and consider:
How am I currently using my influence in my professional sphere?
Are there areas where I can intentionally align my influence more closely with Kingdom values?
What impact am I making in my community, and how can I amplify this for greater Kingdom impact?
Kingdom Challenge
This week, identify one practical way to steward your influence intentionally. Perhaps it’s hosting a conversation around faith-based leadership, mentoring a younger entrepreneur, or aligning a business decision more explicitly with Kingdom values. Commit this action to prayer and take deliberate steps toward implementation.
Prayer for Stewarding Influence
“Father, thank You for entrusting me with influence in my sphere of work and relationships. Help me to steward this influence responsibly and humbly, always pointing others back to You. Teach me to lead with integrity, wisdom, and compassion, reflecting Your love and truth in everything I do. Use me to make a meaningful Kingdom impact in the world around me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Scripture for the Week
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” — Colossians 3:23-24
